Zambian Breweries PLC Managing Director, Anele Malumo, will grace this year’s ‘Creating the Future’ youth conference scheduled for this weekend in Lusaka. And Teen Vision Trust has announced that a K500 million venture capital fund for young entrepreneurs will be unveiled at the conference.
In a statement issued in Lusaka, Zambian Breweries Public Relations Officer Nicky Shabolyo said the youth platform will be an important occasion for the company as it seeks to articulate its position on underage drinking and responsible drinking.
Mr. Shabolyo said Mr. Malumo, who was recently appointed Managing Director for the company, will also use the occasion to highlight the challenges of youth employment in the country and share best experiences about how the corporate world can be part of the solution.
“Young people in the country have a lot of questions and it takes more than the government to provide solutions for such challenges as unemployment. The participation of Zambian Breweries at this conference is a reflection of the eagerness of the corporate world to be part of the solution,” Mr. Shabolyo said.
Mr. Shabolyo added that Zambian Breweries has been one of the largest sponsors of the conference for the past two years and has continued on that path with K37 million pumped into this year’s event.
And Teen Vision Trust board member, Augustine Seyuba, said the involvement of Zambian Breweries at the conference was a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment to solving Zambia’s entrenched socio-economic problems
